Whoops! Blizzard Changes McCree’s Name to Billy The Cosby

Well gamers, it looks like Blizzard moved fast when it came to changing the name of one of Overwatch’s beloved characters. Formally known as Jess McCree, the character will now be known as Billy the Cosby. The name change comes after it cam out that many Blizzard higher ups are awful creepy dudes, including the one employee who they named the character after. Blizzard is hoping this name change will appease fans, however it’s already receiving backlash.

“Are they serious? Do they not see he issue with this? It’s almost like Blizzard is actively trying to make their fans hate them. I feel like I just opened a loot box and got all duplicates and they’re all names of sexual deviants!” said one impassioned fan. The change does seem shocking after the story of the supposed ‘Cosby suite’ hotel room in which members of the Billionare Blizzard Boys club seems to have egaged in inappropriate behavior while a framed picture of Bill Cosby hung over the bed.

No news as to wether the characters signature catchphrase “It’s High Noon!” will change at all. Some redditors think they found a leak of a clip recorded by Matthew Mercer, the characters voice actor, saying “Ooooooh It’s Jello Pudding Pop Time!” but there has been no confirmation from Blizzard or Mercer himself as to the validity of the clip.
